Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wild Heliotrope by John Marshall Gamble was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2013. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,478.13) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Marshall Gamble have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shore Coryopsis in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 182,000.00 (€ 214,470.89).
