Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Coplans could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Self-Portrait (Hand, Two Panels, Horizontal) changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,579.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Coplans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Coplans konnte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Self-Portrait (Hand, Two Panels, Horizontal) für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.579,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Coplans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.379,87).
