In April this year Bonhams held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Study for The Temptation of Jimmie Olsen, 1990 by Jim Shaw. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,464.67), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr. Goldfoot And His Bikini Bombs in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 161,126.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for The Temptation of Jimmie Olsen, 1990 von Jim Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.464,67) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dr. Goldfoot And His Bikini Bombs im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 161.126,72).
