Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Images by Ilse Bing for USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,648.41). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilse Bing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait with Leica, Paris in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 38,586.20).
