Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction African Contemporary Art, which included the work Masque by Gonçalo Mabunda. The price achieved of EUR 2,624.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gonçalo Mabunda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Totem in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 15,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion African Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Masque von Gonçalo Mabunda zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 2.624,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonçalo Mabunda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Totem im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 15.600,00.
