Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Franz Roubaud could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Russian Pictures Including Works on Paper by Natalia Goncharova and Mikhail Larionov auction, the work Surrendering The Caliph'S Banner changed hands for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 64,502.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Roubaud - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cossacks Crossing The River, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 168,500.00 (€ 250,045.53).
