Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reading Man (Self-Portrait) by Forrest Bess was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The price achieved of USD 46,875.00 (€ 36,461.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Forrest Bess - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled No. 6, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 112,900.00 (€ 83,921.80).
