Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Still Life with a Watermelon by Fernando Botero. The price achieved of USD 362,500.00 (€ 269,456.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Botero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with a Watermelon von Fernando Botero zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 362.500,00 (€ 269.456,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Botero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
