Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Emerson Simmons could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Old Woman Peeling An Orange (Lunch, Elche, Spain) changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,082.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Emerson Simmons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le printemps in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,214.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Emerson Simmons konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Old Woman Peeling An Orange (Lunch, Elche, Spain) für USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.082,48) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Emerson Simmons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le printemps im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.214,97).
