In the The Gift of Photographs auction, the work Mosa - Mohave (from Portfolio II of 'The North American Indian') changed hands for USD 4,864.00 (€ 4,397.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Sheriff Curtis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The North American Indian, Portfolios 1-20; and Volumes 1-20 in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,416,000.00 (€ 1,180,491.87).
