It achieved a price of EUR 710.00 exceeding the estimate by 18% . Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eadweard Muybridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 83,455.34).
Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Animal Locomotion (Plate 89) von Eadweard Muybridge wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion From a Universal Collector - The Olbricht Collection bei VAN HAM versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 710,00 und übertraf damit den zuvor vom Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreis um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eadweard Muybridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 83.455,34).
