Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer Nights by Dia Al-Azzawi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art auction at Bonhams in London in May last year. The price achieved of GBP 50,700.00 (€ 59,643.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dia Al-Azzawi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death), which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 235,500.00 (€ 214,833.06).
