Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Appeal to the Great Spirit by Cyrus Edwin Dallin. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,562.50 (€ 69,120.76). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cyrus Edwin Dallin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Massasoit', which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 266,500.00 (€ 191,464.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Appeal to the Great Spirit von Cyrus Edwin Dallin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 81.562,50 (€ 69.120,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Cyrus Edwin Dallin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Massasoit' beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 266.500,00 (€ 191.464,90) versteigert wurde.
