Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Signal of Peace by Cyrus Edwin Dallin for USD 4,410.00 (€ 4,109.59). This price was achieved in the auction The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cyrus Edwin Dallin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Massasoit' in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 191,464.90).
