Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Brian Clarke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2015. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Small Things Go Away sold for GBP 65,000.00 (€ 89,625.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Brian Clarke; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Blue Computergram, 1981 sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 105,006.38).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Brian Clarke erzielte im Februar 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Small Things Go Away für GBP 65.000,00 (€ 89.625,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Brian Clarke; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Blue Computergram, 1981 im Dezember 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 94.000,00 (€ 105.006,38).
