In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online, which included the work Paul Morand, Paris de nuit: 60 photos inédites by Brassaï. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,711.96), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brassaï achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ciel Postiche (False Sky) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 50,315.53).
