Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Monolith, The Face Of Half Dome' by Ansel Adams. Here, the upper estimate of USD 250,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 269,000.00 (€ 204,283.11). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ansel Adams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Monolith, The Face Of Half Dome' von Ansel Adams zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 250.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 269.000,00 (€ 204.283,11) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55) versteigert wurde.
