Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bateaux de pêche au large Deauville by André Hambourg was sold in the Modern Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,543.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Hambourg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Première de planches à voile dans l'estuaire de la Touques in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,164.27).
