Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Woman Standing by Alexander Archipenko for USD 189,000.00 (€ 176,125.24). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Archipenko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,464,000.00 (€ 2,169,740.45).
