Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Armes et Ustensiles; and three proof engravings, one annotated, for plate 40 in the Atlas Historique by Adrien Aimé Taunay was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2002. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,912.00 (€ 3,038.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adrien Aimé Taunay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Timor, Ombay, Baye des Chiens Marins 1. Squale pris pres de l'île Ombay ... 2. Scombre ... de la baie des chiens-marins 3. Squale pris sur les côtes de la nlle hollande, même espece que celle de la baie des chiens-marins in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,912.50 (€ 33,234.77).

Armes et Ustensiles; and three proof engravings, one annotated, for plate 40 in the Atlas Historique von Adrien Aimé Taunay kam im September 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.912,00 (€ 3.038,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adrien Aimé Taunay erzielen.
