In the THE FREYCINET COLLECTION auction, the work Marine Life: 12 watercolours including Iles Mariannes, Guham, Polypied, pls.1 and 2; Mollusques, pls. 2 and 8; Cotes de la noulle hollande, Timor, planche no.7; and seven other fragments of sheets with studies of polyps, molluscs and other organisms sold for GBP 5,616.50 (€ 8,925.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,00 However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrien Aimé Taunay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Timor, Ombay, Baye des Chiens Marins 1.
