Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
This work without title by Ad Reinhardt was worth USD 226,800.00 (€ 211,350.29) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ad Reinhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Painting, Blue, 1953 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 4,981,000.00 (€ 4,004,663.13).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit ohne Titel von Ad Reinhardt war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres USD 226.800,00 (€ 211.350,29) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ad Reinhardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract Painting, Blue, 1953 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.981.000,00 (€ 4.004.663,13).
