This work without title by Ad Reinhardt was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 1,860,000.00 (€ 1,733,296.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ad Reinhardt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Abstract Painting, Blue, 1953, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 4,981,000.00 (€ 4,004,663.13).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ad Reinhardt kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.860.000,00 (€ 1.733.296,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Für andere Arbeiten von Ad Reinhardt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Abstract Painting, Blue, 1953 beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 4.981.000,00 (€ 4.004.663,13) versteigert wurde.
