Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Ten Screenprints by Ad Reinhardt for USD 6,985.00 (€ 6,326.99). This price was achieved in the auction Editions & Works on Paper at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ad Reinhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Painting, Blue, 1953 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 4,981,000.00 (€ 4,004,663.13).
