Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Ten Screenprints portfolio: nine plates by Ad Reinhardt. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,482.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ad Reinhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Painting, Blue, 1953 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 4,981,000.00 (€ 4,004,663.13).
