Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Jerome, Arizona 21 by Aaron Siskind. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,334.00 (€ 6,206.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aaron Siskind achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,007.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jerome, Arizona 21 von Aaron Siskind zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.334,00 (€ 6.206,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aaron Siskind erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.007,98).
